VZM (Vision Zero Maine) was created in 2023 when Vision Zero policy was first adopted in the State of Maine. Around this same time, we partnered with the Maine Trails Coalition, MDOT, GPCOG, BACTS, and other regional agencies to produce a statewide screening of the documentary film The Street Project. The film was followed by an audience Q&A with our guest speakers from partner agencies to educate people about Vision Zero policy.

VZM is currently working with the Westbrook Active Transportation Task Force (WATTF), an independent group advocating for connecting active transportation, housing, and economic development in the City of Westbrook. The group was formed after years of concern about poor transportation planning policy and dangerous infrastructure.
